We are looking for a new enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our existing group of consultants who are all highly motivated and committed to developing excellent services for patients. The expectations of all members of the multi-disciplinary team are high. The team consists of consultants with various specialist interests, including immunology and infectious diseases, respiratory, nephrology, eating disorders and secondary epilepsy. The role will include acute work in the Children’s Assessment and Treatment unit (CAT) and on the Children’s inpatient wards, as well as outpatient work in the form of general paediatric clinics. We welcome applicants who have a specialist interest in any paediatric subspecialty and there are opportunities to discuss and establish this in the post.

The role has a vast mixture of secondary and tertiary paediatrics supporting an extensive array of other tertiary specialists across Leeds Children’s Hospital.

Leeds Children’s Hospital caters to every paediatric sub-specialty under one roof. It also has close links with the adult hospital, within the same building, which enables smooth transition of care from paediatrics to adults.

The team is developing exciting new pathways to make the department more efficient, improve patient experience as well as providing an excellent experience

to resident doctors in training. Over the years there has been a significant overhaul of the workforce, and this has now resulted in the appointments of qualified advanced nurse practitioners, trainee ANPs, specialty doctors, and physician associates, who complement the resident doctor workforce.
