Job Summary

Are you an experienced neonatal nurse with strong clinical credibility, a passion for developing people and a drive to transform clinical practice?

We are looking for an inspiring and experienced Senior Clinical Educator to join our team and provide senior clinical education, leadership and professional support across the neonatal service.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse who can combine clinical expertise, educational leadership, workforce development and quality improvement to make a real difference to staff, babies and families.

Working as part of a collaborative team of Band 7 Senior Clinical Educators, you will provide visible and credible leadership across clinical areas, supporting staff to develop their knowledge, skills and competence and ensuring that education translates into high-quality, evidence-based practice.

For further information please see attachment with extra information.

Why you should join our Team

The Leeds Children's Hospital is one the UKs largest specialist children's hospitals that provides acute tertiary services for children and young people across the Yorkshire and Humber region. We host 27 medical and surgical specialties across our 16 inpatient wards in addition to our Paediatric Critical Care Service, Children's Medical and Surgical Day Case Unit, Children's Assessment Unit and Children's Outpatient Department. We are a specialist regional centre for liver and renal transplantation, complex children's cancer treatment, neurosurgery, and congenital cardiac surgery.

What you will bring to the role

As a Senior Clinical Educator, you will play a key role in leading education and practice development within neonatal services.

You will work closely with clinical and senior nursing teams to identify learning needs, respond to emerging workforce and service requirements and implement education and development solutions that improve clinical practice and patient outcomes.

You will provide professional and educational assurance, supporting the implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of standards of practice, competencies, clinical guidelines and education programmes.

The role requires a strong clinical presence. You will act as an expert practitioner, clinical role model and visible educational leader, providing advice, coaching, supervision and challenge where appropriate.

You will also contribute to the leadership and management of the educator workforce, supporting junior educators, mentors and assessors to deliver consistent, high-quality education and assessment.
