Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Departmental Secretary to the Dermatology team within the Chapel Allerton Hospital CSU. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone looking to expand their experience and knowledge. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive secretarial/administrative support to the Dermatology department, based at Chapel Allerton Hospital. Full training for the role will be provided.

The role will involve general secretarial duties which include the typing of correspondence, clinic letters, dealing with telephone enquiries and supporting the various referral to treatment targets. The successful candidate would also be expected to make appointments for patients.


The post is for 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday with hours 8-4.


What you will bring to the role

The Dermatology department is one of the larger services based out of Chapel Allerton Hospital. We have a dedicated group of doctors and nurses that are supported by a friendly, helpful secretarial team. Teamwork within the department is considered essential as the medical and administrative teams need to work together in order to deliver the best service that we can do for our patients, many of whom will have been coming to the department for many years.

The department aims to offer a flexible and supportive work environment while looking for opportunities to improve the service for our staff and our patients.

Candidates will need excellent communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team, to work under minimal supervision and the ability to meet deadlines.

Experience in typing/word processing or equivalent would be desirable to undertake this varied and interesting role, along with a good standard of English.
